It is the genre term the Thai industry uses for its own performers, and it maps onto the same people. We write trans in our own copy and keep ladyboy where it is the literal name of the material.
Why do the Thai performers have so few scenes listed?
Because the Thai catalogues credit their casts badly. Scenes often go out with no performer named at all, so a working career shows up here as two or three entries. That is a gap in the source, not a measure of how much someone has shot.
Are there Japanese or Filipina performers?
A few, and they sit on this page instead of getting pages of their own: the numbers do not support splitting Asian into national pages yet. The nationality checkboxes in the sidebar give the breakdown.
